It happen to be that the closest personality to a believer is the holy Spirit.He resides in your HUMAN recreated spirit and one of your greatest devotion as a believer is your swift discernment of his workings in and through you.
You will notice that, immediately you switch off your phones, the lights, every disturbance, and you stay quietly in a place where no man or being can disturb you...
That's when all the NOISES in your SOUL will become loud(manifest).
You cannot encounter GOD until you are STILL. You can't build consciousness of the indwelling presence of God until you are absolutely (spirit, soul and body) alone with him.
The psalmist said
BE "STILL" AND KNOW YAHWEH.
If you want to hear the Noise (disturbances) in your SOUL.
Wait till like 3am (when everybody is deep in sleep). Switch off anything that makes noise even your fan, phone, LIGHT,
Try to focus your mind on God alone. Then you will know the things that are fighting you from making progress. You will literally be hearing voices in your head.
*THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T HEAR HIS SMALL STILL VOICE*....
