Earlier in my post, I said, "There is a difference between a music minister and a performing artist." I just want to explain a little bit further.
A music minister's primary assignment is to MINISTER... To Minister means to take care of or attend to the needs of someone.
A music minister is trying to find out what is in the heart of God for the people in this season and look for means to communicate God's mind to the people through his or her music.
So every time you mount the podium, its an opportunity to bless the people first and not to bless your pocket...(PRIORITY) Seek the kingdom first and other things will be added unto you. Mat. 6:33
Meanwhile, a performing artist just wants to show off his or her talent, ability and skills. He or she is not after making God the center of attraction but for him/herself. He/she will focus more on what to do to get applause, get people bowing and standing and other ovations through his/her voice, appearance, skills, etc.
So today ask yourself I'm a performer or a minister. Surely, there is a reward for the two depending on what you want.
And in case you are wondering why my emphasis is on music ministry, I know the people that I am primary sent to but not limited to because this is also applicable to other ministries. God bless you.
