Satan Is Not On Holiday -Pastor Onayinka Olusegun

A lesson I learnt during the last holidays

I draw lessons a lot via observation .

During the last festive season I observed a couple of instructive things ,some of which I shared during our last workers meeting in the church I serve as pastor

I had cause to visit airports and noticed it was busy and active because those who managed it weren't on holidays or in a festive mood,in fact the security men were at utmost diligence .

Also ,I observed Doctors and health workers had to be at their beats ,they had no luxury of jollification whilst all others were in such mood.

Festive season or not ,men will fall ill and needed attention else ,more disaster could overwhelm all the fun and excitement .

Same for traffic control ,they weren't found in parties ( most ) or else many of us will experience untold traffic and avoidable terror on the roads.

Electricity too was served ,simply because those in charge had to suspend holidays so we all could afford some fun and enjoy services.

Even Entertainers were busy in so much that they weren't offering more than the fun required for such festive periods ,same with footballers .

Then like the Teacher in Ecclesiastes ..

It came to my understanding that some duties require full concentration .

Those that are referred to as essential duties are so called because they require 24 hours input,alertness and dedication .

Security ,Health etc

How much more the Preacher of the gospel ,The pastor or Christian leader .

Such ministry is far more essential than those highlighted above

Men's eternities depend on them .

Satan doesn't holiday,neither does sin ,sickness and oppression

We must be found at our duty posts .

Even when as it were we must do earthly things we must not lose our edge,be found frivolous and not be sensitive

In one of Jesus' parables he pointed out a fact when men are off beat and even asleep

Matthew 13:25 KJV
[25] But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

Prayer ,Meditation ,study  etc must be diligently observed even when off the pulpit and doing other things .

As paul told Timothy

2 Timothy 2:4 KJV
[4] No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Our job demands full time concentration .

In season and out of season

2 Timothy 4:2 KJV
[2] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season;

You must be at your duty post at all times else there will be untold commotion and avoidable challenges
