Matthew3:16-17
After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.” Jesus began His ministry knowing that His Father loves Him and is proud of Him even before He started doing miracles and healings because He is the Beloved Son of God.
Everything about Jesus is about the Father. Everything He did is motivated by the Father’s love. Jesus was able to do the things He did because He knew the Father’s heart and He was acquainted with all of His ways.
John 5:18-20
For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.
Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.
For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel.” Every individual has a driving force within. It could be a goal or a desire for power, money, status, or position. What about Jesus?
What do you think was the driving force behind all that
He did amidst the persecutions, unbelief and evil? It was the
love of the Father. The passion of Jesus, more than anything,
was the Father and everything that is about Him. He lived to
please Him. Love was the motivation for everything that He
did. This love strengthened and empowered Him from within
allowing Him to face every challenge and persecution with
such assurance and confidence. It is this love that enabled Him
to release forgiveness to the worst of sinners, and to become
the author of salvation through His death on the cross.
